Britain’s best loved cartoonist's career spans over 50 years and he is greatly respected  as creator of the classic cartoon characters and strips such as The Fosdyke Saga and the Cloggies.

He is also famed for his numerous TV and Radio appearances including, “Countdown” “This is Your Life”, “Quick on the Draw”, “Celebrity Squares”, “Blankety Blank” and as well as BBC Radio’s “The News Quiz” and “Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.”  .

Thanks to a love of life and an ability to adapt to change which leaves most of his contemporaries gasping  Bill is still going strong at 74.  He believes a cartoonist’s task is to highlight the flaws and frustrations of hi-tech and modern living as well as the joys and pleasures and Bill does a full 0900-1800 daily surgery on these patients.

There are so few shop windows for cartoonists these days and with the most famous of all bastions of British humour, Punch Magazine now gone, Bill still contributes to  Private Eye and other publications as diverse as  his "Kegbuster"  character in the Reak Ale Journal 'What’s Brewing’ to ‘British Archaeology’ and ‘Antiquity’ on a monthly basis.

Bill is still filled with a magical talent and has no intention of ever throwing away his markers.  He still draws as fast as he speaks, mesmerises adults and children alike and continues to be inspired by all that surrounds him.

Bill  has been a graphic defender throughout his career, always behind the barricades for those threatened, serious pleasures of life like Real Ale, decent bread and folk dancing.  Plus the not so serious offences against mankind such as dressing in a civilised manner when flying on holiday to Benidorm and drinking out of glasses instead of bottles.

He was President of cricket's official charity, The Lord’s Taverners Charity in 2008/2009
